ANGLEPLAY

I have bought Margeret Millers ruler for Angleplay and I really enjoyed to use them. On her webside http://www.millerquilts.com/ there are good instructions for everything and I have learned a lot from them.

I also have her two books belonging to the rulers:

I have made 6 platemates for our dining table and it was very fun making them.

DYING MY OWN THREAD

For a time I have been facinated by thread so I wanted to try to dye my own version.
I bought some cotten thread and started.

First I unpacked the thread and prepared some small wodden sticks. I also had some small plastic jars to dye in.

I wrapped the white thread round the sticks using a big bucket as a help.

Then I started to make the dye baths.

Here the wrapped threads are ready for dying.

I made some yellow to all of the stichs. In the other end of the stick there had to be an other color: Blue, red and brown.

I hoped that the colors would blend with the yellow, but it didn't happen.
I washed out the dye, dried the threads, and in the end I had 3 tupes of colored thread.

Hope you like it. I am looking forward to use it.

Then I draw a patteren om the stamps.

I carved the stamp so that there were ups and downs. I used some knives i have bought.

Then I paintet the stamps with different colors and sone acrylic paint for the use of fabric painting.

This is how it looks in the end of the experiment. In fact - It worked very well. :-)

Presents for my granddaughters

YES. I have had a new granddtaughter. EMMA.

Here she is.

A wonderfull little girl, who makes me very proud.

I have made some things for her, and I hope she will enjoy them.

Here you can see what I have been working at:

As a quilter one have to make a baby blanket. This one has the heart as a theme. In the fabric collection, in the applicee and in the quilting.

For both my girls I have made a ball.

This one for the oldest girl, Olivia:

I had the pattern from this quilter: http://bassebufas.blogspot.com/2011/01/diy-pa-babybold.html

The ball for Emma is called a Boubble Ball. I bought the pattern from this webside:
http://www.vanillahousedesigns.com/patterns/fun-for-sewing/

I used some of my self dyied fabric and a lot of different scraps. It was really fun to make and as Emma gets a little older I know that she will like it.
